Republican pushing for an increase in tax on table games

While speaking to the press, one of the Republican representatives, Brian Newberry, said that he wanted to see the tax levied on different table games to be increased from their current value.

This might come as bad news coming for the gambling industry, in case there is a change in the tax system for table games, especially with the fact that they have been facing considerable loss for a long period now. This increase in tax, if levied, will only pile up the pressure on these casinos and lead to an increment in the revenue loss.

Newberry believes that the tax on these table games should get increased from its current 18% to 20%.

This is not the first time that he is proposing such a move. Last year itself, Newberry proposed a tax increase amendment for table games. However, it did not receive approval from anyone. In case it does this time, then there might be tough times ahead for casinos across the nation considering the delicate situation, in which they are at this moment.
